Liquid Gold

Liquid Gold is founded on the honey history of GloryBee Foods. GloryBee started in the family garage of Dick and Pat Turanski in 1975. Dick was an avid beekeeper and Pat an avid baker. Their passions led to GloryBee becoming the preferred natural ingredient partner in the Pacific Northwest. GloryBee grew to provide not only honey, molasses and other natural ingredients, but HoneyStix, Aunt Patty's Trail Mix, and other natural snacks.

Over time the culture of experimentation, creativity and product development was passed on to the next generation. Alan Turanski, along with marketing employees Kevin Menard and Rob Sanders shared a passion for cycling and other athletics, as well as a dedication to healthy living. Their passion, the history of GloryBee and experience with honey, as well as recent research of viability of honey as a sports fuel lead to the development of Liquid Gold in 2005.

Alan remembers, “At that time we noticed there wasn’t a gel on the market that met our three criteria: made from whole foods, truly natural, and tasted great; so we set out to make an energy gel that accomplished all three. We started to brainstorm and research when we realized that we had it all right here: honey, molasses, sea salt, flavorings and the capabilities to develop, produce and package it. Once we realized that, we dug in and started to have some fun."

GloryBee was already a large scale ingredient handler. Organic honey made a great base fuel, and Aunt Patty's blackstrap molasses has been a product for over 25 years. With the addition to sea salt, the base formula was set, and with over 20 years experience naturally flavoring HoneyStix, making Liquid Gold taste great was an easy final check.
